Boca thermal printers

Ticketack supports Boca and Zebra printers for thermal printing at the point of sale.

Paper type

Boca printers support black-mark paper only (black mark on the back of the ticket for the sensor).

Printer not recognized

If your Boca printer is not recognized, check that it is in USB Printer (PRINTER) mode and not HID or SERIAL.

Boca printers (especially 26/46 models) can operate in three USB modes:

  • PRINTER — printer mode with FGL drivers and USB Printing Support (Boca Systems’ recommended default, and the mode expected by Ticketack);
  • HID — Windows HID device (USB – HID compliant device);
  • SERIAL — virtual serial port (firmware M123 / N85 or higher; Windows 10+ or macOS Yosemite+).

Older models (22/42 and most 24/44) operate in USB printer mode only.

Change USB device type (control panel)

  1. Depress both the MENU and CHOICES buttons while turning on the printer. Keep both buttons depressed until FACTORY MENU appears in the LCD window or the display starts scrolling through different topics.
  2. Using the MENU button, scroll down to the USB DEVICE TYPE? topic.
  3. Using the CHOICES button, select PRINTER (for Ticketack), HID or SERIAL.
  4. Press the TEST button to confirm.
  5. The display should show EXIT AND SAVE?. Press the TEST button a second time. The printer should reset itself.
