Zebra thermal printers

Ticketack supports Zebra and Boca printers for thermal printing at the point of sale (desktop models such as ZD410 / ZD400 Series).

Paper type

Zebra printers support:

  • paper with a hole / notch (gap / notch) — recommended;
  • black-mark paper on the back of the ticket.

Align the yellow sensor

Open the printer lid. The yellow movable sensor sits under the media path. Slide it sideways so the sensor alignment arrow points at the media mark:

  • Hole / notch paper — set the sensor to the center (or the intended alignment position) so the hole passes in front of the sensor window. See the Zebra gap sensing documentation.
  • Black-mark paper — point the sensor arrow at the middle of the black mark on the back of the media, with the mark fully covering the sensor window. See the Zebra black-mark documentation.

Close the lid, then run a media calibration (SmartCal): hold PAUSE and CANCEL until the printer advances and calibrates (exact steps for your model are in the ZD410 user guide).

Check that the printer is ready

  • Steady green status LED — the printer is ready to print.
  • Blinking green LED — press FEED once to advance a ticket / leave the waiting state, then check that the LED becomes steady green again.

Factory reset

On desktop models such as the ZD420 / ZD620 (and similar), there is no paper-clip RESET button. Procedure:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. While turning the printer on, press and hold PAUSE and FEED.
  3. Keep holding PAUSE + FEED until only the STATUS light remains on.
