{"id":5418,"date":"2026-07-22T09:00:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T07:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ticketack.com\/knowledge-base\/boca-thermal-printers\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T09:17:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T07:17:24","slug":"boca-thermal-printers","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/ticketack.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/boca-thermal-printers\/","title":{"rendered":"Boca thermal printers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ticketack supports <strong>Boca<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ticketack.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/zebra-thermal-printers\/\"><strong>Zebra<\/strong><\/a> printers for thermal printing at the point of sale.<\/p>\n<h2>Paper type<\/h2>\n<p>Boca printers support <strong>black-mark paper only<\/strong> (black mark on the back of the ticket for the sensor).<\/p>\n<h2>Printer not recognized<\/h2>\n<p>If your Boca printer is not recognized, check that it is in <strong>USB Printer<\/strong> (PRINTER) mode and not <strong>HID<\/strong> or <strong>SERIAL<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Boca printers (especially 26\/46 models) can operate in three USB modes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PRINTER<\/strong> \u2014 printer mode with FGL drivers and USB Printing Support (Boca Systems\u2019 recommended default, and the mode expected by Ticketack);<\/li>\n<li><strong>HID<\/strong> \u2014 Windows HID device (USB \u2013 HID compliant device);<\/li>\n<li><strong>SERIAL<\/strong> \u2014 virtual serial port (firmware M123 \/ N85 or higher; Windows&nbsp;10+ or macOS Yosemite+).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Older models (22\/42 and most 24\/44) operate in USB printer mode only.<\/p>\n<h2>Change USB device type (control panel)<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Depress both the <strong>MENU<\/strong> and <strong>CHOICES<\/strong> buttons while turning on the printer. Keep both buttons depressed until <code>FACTORY MENU<\/code> appears in the LCD window or the display starts scrolling through different topics.<\/li>\n<li>Using the <strong>MENU<\/strong> button, scroll down to the <code>USB DEVICE TYPE?<\/code> topic.<\/li>\n<li>Using the <strong>CHOICES<\/strong> button, select <strong>PRINTER<\/strong> (for Ticketack), <strong>HID<\/strong> or <strong>SERIAL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Press the <strong>TEST<\/strong> button to confirm.<\/li>\n<li>The display should show <code>EXIT AND SAVE?<\/code>. Press the <strong>TEST<\/strong> button a second time.
