They group and isolate season-related data: programming and screenings, applications, statistics, articles, pricing, sale points, and more. Every resource you create or view in Kronos is tied to the active edition.<\/p>\n<h2>What are editions for?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Separate seasons<\/strong> so one year\u2019s data does not mix with another\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prepare a future edition<\/strong> (ticketing, venues, price lists) before going live.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Browse a past edition<\/strong> in read-only mode for history and reporting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Filter the Kronos UI<\/strong>: the edition selector (header) and API calls use the chosen edition context.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a broader checklist when opening a new festival season, see <a href=\"https:\/\/ticketack.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-prepare-your-festivals-new-edition\/\">How do I prepare my festival\u2019s new edition?<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Access edition management<\/h2>\n<p>Sign in to <a href=\"https:\/\/ticketack.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/comment-se-connecter-a-linterface-de-gestion-kronos\/\">Kronos<\/a>, then open <strong>Administration<\/strong> \u2192 <strong>Editions<\/strong> (<a class=\"kb-kronos-path\" href=\"https:\/\/kronos.ticketack.com\/editions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><code>\/editions<\/code><\/a>). The list shows each edition\u2019s identifier, start and end dates, event dates, and status (<em>Upcoming<\/em>, <em>Active<\/em>, <em>Past<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h2>Switch edition in Kronos<\/h2>\n<p>In the sidebar, the <strong>Edition<\/strong> menu lets you switch between editions you can access.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Past edition<\/strong>: view-only; changes are blocked (warning banner).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Future edition<\/strong>: you can prepare data; it does not affect the public until it becomes the instance\u2019s current edition.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Current edition<\/strong>: the production edition for your instance (badge <em>Current edition<\/em> in the list).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Create a new edition<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>On the editions list, click <strong>Add<\/strong> (or open <a class=\"kb-kronos-path\" href=\"https:\/\/kronos.ticketack.com\/editions\/new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><code>\/editions\/new<\/code><\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Enter the <strong>identifier<\/strong> (e.g. <code>2026<\/code>): it is unique and cannot be changed after creation.<\/li>\n<li>Set <strong>start and end dates<\/strong> for the edition (administrative season window).<\/li>\n<li>Set <strong>event start and end dates<\/strong> (festival or event period).<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Event dates are used when shifting dates during resource copy (below). To roll a season forward by one year, enter dates that reflect that offset (e.g. edition 2025 from 1 June to 30 June 2025 \u2192 edition 2026 from 1 June to 30 June 2026).<\/p>\n<h2>Copy data from a previous edition<\/h2>\n<p>Resource copy is only available when <strong>creating<\/strong> an edition (not when editing it later).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the creation form, under <strong>Copy resources<\/strong>, enable <strong>Copy resources from another edition<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Choose the <strong>source edition<\/strong> (the instance\u2019s current edition is pre-selected by default).<\/li>\n<li>Select the data types to duplicate. Depending on your needs, you may copy for example:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Programming<\/strong>: venues, screenings (activities)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ticketing<\/strong>: article categories, articles, ticket types, pricing lists, bucket lists<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sales<\/strong>: sale points, cash registers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Documents<\/strong>: PDF and e-mail layouts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applications<\/strong>: application types, phases<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other<\/strong>: sectors, equipment orders, tags, settings overrides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Keep <strong>Adapt dates to the new edition\u2019s calendar<\/strong> enabled to automatically shift dates on copied resources (screenings, articles, ticket types, phases, etc.). The system computes the gap between the source edition\u2019s event start date and the new edition\u2019s event start date, then applies that offset. This is how you \u201cshift by one year\u201d when the new edition\u2019s event dates are one year after the previous edition.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong>. Copying runs right after the edition is created.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn off date adaptation if you only want the structure without automatic shifting (adjust dates manually afterwards).<\/li>\n<li>Copying does not overwrite an existing edition; it only fills the <em>new<\/em> edition.<\/li>\n<li>After copying, review screenings, sales windows and phases that use dynamic rule expressions; some fields are not shifted automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Set the current edition<\/h2>\n<p>The current edition is the one used in production for your Ticketack instance. In the editions list, click <strong>Current edition<\/strong> on the desired row. The interface reloads with that edition as the server reference.
